My love for art grow since I was passionate about art and the need to educate others fellow artists made look for ways to improve on it.

Our art collective is driven by a shared passion for conservation and a deep connection with the natural world. Through our art, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Uganda’s unique wildlife and ecosystems.

Inspired by the park’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife, my artwork reflects the beauty, wonder, and fragility of our natural world. I invite you to explore my art and join me on this creative journey, as we strive to make a positive impact on conservation efforts in Uganda.

I was born in Butogota village clinging to the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable forest, where mountain gorillas roam like ancient kings. But my childhood was no paradise. My father had four wives my mother, the fourth, bore him four children and received four scraps of nothing. while tourists paid fortunes to glimpse gorillas. I walked 17 kilometers to school in tattered shoes chasing an education my family could not afford. The forest was my back drop, but survival was my daily trek.

In 2017, I left home as l was still studying from Butogota to partly work in Buhoma gateway to the gorillas the village was rich in tourists and crafts. I slept at my grandma’s place sketching gorillas on discarded paper while studying.
The forest’s whispers fueled me with more hopes.

Then came 2019 where I had completed my high level (advanced level of education), l used to draw gorillas and our Batwa ancestors.
In the middle of 2019 I was joined by Kato Saddeus. Kakure James and Innocent he was too young yearning for art. We were sons of farmers, porters and forgotten wives united by art with same goals. On my side 2020 and 2021 death calmed both parent dad and mum following the mentioned years.

Now artists joined us to by 15 in number and they was more trying to join too. Fifteen of us crammed into one room part gallery, part studio, part sanctuary. We mixed paints from clay and charcoal, stretched bark cloth over frames and taught each other beneath a single bulb.

Tourist trickled in drawn art pieces but staying for our stories. They didn’t just by buy art, they paid child’s school fees and meals for us.
In 2022 we had started donating to the neighborhood families using our income. For many reasons we decided to aim at having a bigger place which can be recognizable the cost to this place is $100k USD to have operating.
This forced us to bring this idea to the world.: About Us
